A 51-year-old was strolling along South Tabor Boulevard near Hansard Crescent at about 2:44 a.m. Sunday morning when he was attacked.
"He heard a vehicle approach from behind. Moments later, he was attacked by an unknown number of persons," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.
The man was robbed of a silver ring and a Bulova watch and he was physically assaulted.
A passerby who noticed the attack called 911 and spoke to police.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC by the BC Ambulance Service and later released.
The victim did not clearly see the attackers so police have very little information to go on.
"We have no firm suspects but that is something we're going to work at," Douglass said. Random attacks are rare, however police is warning the public to be vigilant.
