The B.C. Coroners Service has identified Miklas Bognar, 68, as the pedestrian who died Monday morning when he was struck by a chip truck on Highway 97 at 15th Street.
Bognar was pronounced dead at the scene.
The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP are continuing to investigate Bognar's death and it could be some months before a conclusion is reached.
"It's standard in these situations where we will do toxicology testing as well and those results can take up to three months to get back," regional coroner Donita Kuzma said.
She estimated it will be about six months before a final report is ready.
