An on-duty Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement peace officer driving a pickup truck died at the scene late-Sunday night in a collision with a commercial transport truck on Highway Five, about 10 km north of Valemount.
Valemount RCMP were called to the scene at 11:21 p.m. and a collision reconstructionist North District RCMP was called in to help with the investigation.
The driver of the transport truck was treated at the scene and release. The deceased's name is not being released, RCMP said.
