A Fort St. James man has been slapped with a peace bond requiring him to stay away from anyone under age 16 over an act of sexual predation.
Deveron Andrew Anatole, 24, was issued the bond Monday after he admitted during an appearance in court that there are reasonable grounds to believe he would commit a sexual offence against a person under 16 years old.
The bond is in the form of a one-year $1,000 recognizance after allegation and is in relation to a December 2014 incident. No further details were provided during the hearing.
Terms of the bond prohibit Anatole from venturing any closer than 200 metres of the home where the complainant lives. He is also prohibited from being in the company of anyone under 16 years old unless under appropriate supervision and he must stay away from parks, pools and playgrounds.
Charges against Anatole of telecommunicating to lure a child under 18 and possession of child pornography were stayed.
Co-accused Herbert Antoine Junior Felix did not appear Monday due to troubles making the trip from Fort St. James, the court was told. It's expected he will also be issued a peace bond during a hearing scheduled for early in the new year.
