The thud of the petition demanding the repaving of Continental Way was still echoing off of city council's desk when the municipality agreed to do it.
During the month of March, 525 signatures were collected on behalf of the industrial business community on the east side of Highway 97, across from the BCR Industrial Site. They were protesting the "constant state of disrepair caused by large, deep potholes creating unsafe driving conditions as well as a considerable amount of damage to vehicles."
The petition was presented to mayor and council on Monday night. Only moments after it was brought up on the agenda, staff responded that this project was already on the books for this coming spring.
