Prince George, BC - A new commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada, and the Prince George YMCA is pleased to be recognizing Pat Flack with this medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions as a volunteer and Board member.

"The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for the YMCA to honour volunteers and staff members who have dedicated their time, energy and ideas to strengthening our community" says Mark Miller, CEO. "The mission of the YMCA is brought to life through their words and actions, and these contributions are a shining example of the YMCA's work in Canada".

The contributions Pat has made to the YMCA and our community-at-large are greatly valued. Pat has served on the YMCA Board since 2003. He was Chairperson from 2006 - 2010 and has again agreed to Chair the Board of Directors for another term beginning next month. Pat has guided the YMCA through a variety of projects including hiring two CEOs, developing a new governance policy and initiating a province-wide connection with the YMCA in Ethiopia. Pat's impact on the YMCA of Prince George has been significant. He can always be counted on to share a kind word with YMCA members and staff alike!

A medal presentation ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 24th, 8:30am at the YMCA Highland Family Development Centre located at 155 McDermid Drive.
