A wild tear has earned a Vanderhoof man four months jail time as well as two years probation.
Norman Stacey Weinhardt, 33, was issued the term this week on a conviction for assault with a weapon from a July 28, 2012 incident.
RCMP were called to the A&W restaurant on Highway 16 near Burrard Avenue where they were told Weinhardt deliberately struck a pedestrian.
Weinhardt had fled the scene, Vanderhoof RCMP said at the time, but police were soon called to a location on Spruce Street, about a kilometre to the east, where several people were allegedly assaulted.
While on their way to the scene, police spotted the a vehicle matching the description and Weinhardt was arrested without incident.
Weinhardt was also issued concurrent terms of two months in jail for uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, 30 days for uttering threats to burn, destroy or damage, 14 days for assault and seven days for two counts of breach of an undertaking.
Weinhardt, who was sentenced Monday, originally faced 22 charges.
