Operation Red Nose volunteers will be on the road again this weekend to safely deliver Prince George party-goers home during the holiday season.
On Friday there will be 23 teams criss-crossing the city, while another 24 teams are expected on Saturday. Looking back on previous years, Operation Red Nose provided 111 rides on night five in 2014. The highest number of rides for night five occurred in 2012 when 124 rides were delivered.
For night six, Operation Red Nose gave 163 rides in 2014, which is second only to the record 183 provided in 2010.
After four nights in 2015, 308 safe rides home have been delivered by more than 200 volunteers.
Right now, 238 volunteers have signed up to help the designated driving service organized by the Nechako Rotary Club, in partnership with the Prince George RCMP and ICBC.
Volunteers are still needed this year, especially for New Year's Eve. Those who do help will have a chance to win a 20-minute helicopter ride.
