Online survey on Highway 16 up and running

Members of the 23 First Nations along Highway 16 West are being invited to complete an online survey into the days leading up to a symposium on how best to meet the transportation needs from Prince George to Prince Rupert.

Members of the 23 First Nations along Highway 16 West are being invited to complete an online survey into the days leading up to a symposium on how best to meet the transportation needs from Prince George to Prince Rupert.

The symposium will be held on Nov. 25 in Smithers and will be hosted by the First Nations Health Authority and B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

The discussions will focus on finding options to address both medical and non-medical travel and support healthy communities, the provincial government said in a press release issued Friday.

The 2006 Highway 16 Transportation Symposium Report and the 2012 Missing Women Commission of Inquiry recommendations will also be taken into account, according to Victoria.
