Now that there’s an ample amount of snow in Prince George and the surrounding backcountry, it’s the perfect time to brush up on avalanche safety.

There’s going to be a free backcountry avalanche workshop that will discuss managing tricky snowpacks, and situations that are challenging for everyone — even backcountry pros.

The workshop is sponsored by the Prince George Snowmobile club and takes place at the Northwood Plaza at 2280 Hart Highway from 7–10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

To learn more about avalanches and find backcountry resources you can also check out Avalanche Canada’s website for more information.
