As soccer in B.C. continues to be on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the local organization is taking its love of the game into your living room.

Prince George Youth Soccer (PGYSA) and Prince George Impact are set to host its first-ever eSports World Cup tournament next weekend.

The online event hopes to bring together fans from not just the northern capital, but also friends and family across Canada and around the world.

Youth and adult participants are welcome to join.

PGYSA says you must register to take the virtual pitch and the deadline to sign up is at midnight on Tuesday (May 19).

The tournament runs from May 21 to 23.

More information and registration can be found on the PGYSA website.
