Roller derby enthusiasts will soon have a chance to learn from one of Canada’s best.
Lords of the North Roller Derby (a co-ed team based in Prince George) and the Roll-A-Dome are hosting a roller derby clinic with derby star Mr. Testosterone.
The clinic is aptly named Welcome to the TestosterDome.
Mr. Testosterone is a jammer for the derby team Vancouver Murder. A jammer is a player who scores points by lapping a jammer on the opposite team while avoiding blocks from other players.
He is also a former coach for the Prince George Northstars and is serving his second year on Team Canada Men’s Roller Derby.
He’s also sponsored by companies like Roller Derby Elite, Anabolix Skate Company, Hitsquad TV and more.
He has a unique style of jamming and will show participants in the clinic how it’s done. He also has his own YouTube channel called I’m the Jammer where he shows roller derby tricks and tips.
To learn Mr. Testosterone’s ways in person, you can attend the two-day clinic from Feb. 16 to 17.
On Feb. 16, the clinic takes place in the evening from 6:30 until 9 p.m.; on Feb. 17, the clinic is happening from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Registration is for the clinic is $50, but if you want to just sit back and take in the action, spectator tickets are $15.
