O'Dine takes the stage as part of Olympic sendoff

Prince George snowboard crosser Meryeta O’Dine was one of the featured athletes in the Canadian Olympic team send-off ceremony Saturday afternoon at Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna.
 
O'Dine, 20, was among a group of Canadian team athletes who walked out onto the stage dressed in their Olympic team duds as they were introduced to the crowd at the event, which featured confirmed Olympic team members and Winter Games hopefulls. The Olympic snowboard team won't be announced until later this month.
 
O'Dine, who sits seventh in the world standings, will be back in action Jan. 19-21 when the World Cup snowboard cross tour comes to Ezurum, Turkey. Other events are scheduled later this month in Bulgaria and Germany.
 
The Winter Olympics are in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Feb. 9-25.
