Northwood start up delayed

The start-up of one of two lines at a line at the Northwood pulp mill had been delayed two weeks to complete a $100-million upgrade of a recovery boiler, Canfor Pulp Products Inc. said Thursday.

The start-up of one of two lines at a line at the Northwood pulp mill had been delayed two weeks to complete a $100-million upgrade of a recovery boiler, Canfor Pulp Products Inc. said Thursday.

"This delay will result in a reduction of pulp production in the fourth quarter of approximately 10,000 tonnes," the company said in a statement.

"Management is focusing on managing the associated project delays and mitigating anticipated project cost overruns."

The mill had been shut down since the start of August to complete the work.

Canfor Pulp Products Inc. owns 49.8 per cent of Canfor Pulp Limited Partnership.
