For the fourth straight day, B.C. has no new COVID-19 related deaths to report after the latest update from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry this afternoon in Victoria (June 9).
In the past 24 hours, the province has recorded 10 more test-confirmed cases for a new total of 2,669. Henry said one of those new cases was epidemiologically linked.
Epidemiologically linked is when a person is presumed to have had the disease but has not yet tested positive.
Northern Health now has a total of 66 cases according to Henry, which is up from 64.
There are 908 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,307 in Fraser Health, 130 in the Island Health region and 195 in Interior Health.

Of the current cases, 2,319 people have fully recovered while there are 183 active cases. There are currently 16 people hospitalized with four of those cases currently in ICU.
Dr. Henry added there was a family gathering in the Fraser Health region this past week which consisted of 30 people and at least 15 of them have tested positive for COVID-19, which she said is a warning.
"It's not that somebody intentionally brings that into their community, to their loved ones, to their family," she said. "This is something that we have been seeing around the world, that it's one of the most common ways it gets transmitted, the people we are closest with and spend time with."

She also touched on those going to protests amid the Black Lives Matters movement, saying she's 'disappointed' that protestors broke the health regulations but clarified why those orders were not fully enforced.
"I am disappointed because I know there are very effective ways for small groups of people to demonstrate these important issues, and to do it peacefully and to do it safely," Henry said this afternoon. "I encourage people to find those ways."
"We have always taken the approach of support and education for all of our orders and this is no different."
