The curve continues to bend in the wrong direction.
This afternoon (Sept. 3), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix reported 89 new positive cases from the last 24 hours for a new B.C. total of 6,014.
The Northern Health Authority has three of the newly announced cases, bringing its total to 167 since the pandemic arrived in the region.
Dr. Henry reported 1,175 active cases throughout the province today, which is a new record (1,127 yesterday).

There are 34 people hospitalized (+1) with 11 of those in critical care (-4) and 4,644 fully recovered.
Officials announced one new death from the virus today, keeping the fatality rate at 210.
In Northern Health, the Prespatou region is still under a COVID-19 exposure alert, roughly 100 km north of Fort St. John and 530 km north of Prince George.
There have been 2,012 recorded cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 3,155 in Fraser Health, 178 in Island Health and 450 in the Interior Health region.
On Saturday (Aug. 29), the Nisga'a Valley Health Authority warned its four associated First Nations of a positive COVID-19 case that travelled through its region sometime between Aug. 17 and 28 to attend a funeral.
While no outbreak has been reported, local residents who attended events linked to the funeral from Aug. 21 to 25 are asked to self-isolate for 14 days and to monitor their symptoms.
Officials also provided new modelling that shows where the province currently is and where we could end up based on projections.
