Northern Health's bus service is on a two-week break starting August 9.

NH Connections gives rides to anyone who needs to travel out-of-town for a non-emergency healthcare appointment through a number of routes.

In a release, Northern Health said the summer break is in response to low ridership during the summer and for routine maintenance for the fleet, which uses wheelchair accessible buses and coaches.

It travels between a number of cities, including Prince Rupert, Fort St. John, Mcbride, Burns Lake, Terrace and Dawson Creek, and also has service to Vancouver. Fares range from $20 to $80 return, depending on the length of travel.

The buses will be back in business on Aug. 23. For more information on the program or the schedule, call 1-888-647-4997 or visit Nhconnections.ca.
