Northern BC Tourism seeking new board members

Voting stakeholders in the Northern BC Tourism Association are being asked to join the board of governors. The organization is seeking members to be nominated for several two-year board positions that to become available in October.

The organization is seeking members to be nominated for several two-year board positions that to become available in October. There are openings for three regional director positions and two director-at-large positions.

Candidates will have backgrounds whose business dealings involve accommodations, transportation, tour operations, strategic planning, business development, marketing and communications.

To be eligible for the board, each candidate must be with a business or organization that has had at least one transaction or investment with Northern BC Tourism in the past year.

The deadline for nominations is Aug. 29. A list of candidates for the regional directorships and director-at-large positions will be sent to all stakeholders 30 days before the annual general meeting, set for Oct. 30. Ballots must be received by mail, fax or email by Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.

Northern BC Tourism is one of six regional organizations that are part of SuperNatural British Columbia. Governed by group of directors from the private sector who represent the business community and tourism-related interests, the organization co-ordinates and delivers marketing programs on behalf of stakeholders and helps tour operators and other travel-industry professionals plan their itineraries.
