Initiatives Prince George (IPG) is encouraging Northern B.C. employers to attend the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters job fair in Vancouver in Feb. 29.

The goal of the job fair taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, is to connect the pool of unemployed skilled workers in the Lower Mainland with mining, forestry, oil and gas and construction companies in need of skilled workers in the north.

The fair is expected to draw up to 750 electricians, carpenters, plumbers, pipefitters, machinists, drivers, heavy equipment operators and other skilled workers.

The Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters is working with IPG, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, and the Northern Development Initiative Trust to promote the event.
