Local MLAs Shirley Bond and Pat Bell each have three Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medals to give out and they want your advice on deciding the deserving recipients.
If you know someone in either of their constituencies who has made significant contributions to their local communities, they're asking you to let them know by filling out a nomination form.
Two medals will go to residents living in the greater Prince George area while one each will go to someone living in the Robson Valley and someone living in Mackenzie.
"There are people doing amazing things every day and they deserve to be recognized," Bond said. "And many of them are reluctant to share their stories publicly, it isn't about them, so I'm hoping through this mechanism where someone can nominate them, we'll get to hear some of those very special stories."
The deadline for nominations is Sept. 21, about three weeks away.
With nominations in hand a panel, likely of five people and none of them Bond or Bell, will decide who is most deserving.
Bond and Bell will still have one additional medal to give out based on their own judgment.
The panel will pass their recommendations on to Victoria and the medal winners will be announced later this year.
""We're taking a different approach than many MLAs, MPs and others have taken, obviously," Bond said. "We think this is a much better way to learn more about those stories."
Nomination forms are available at Bond's and Bell's constituency offices. Bond's office is at 1350 5th Ave. and Bell's office is at 103-770 East Central St.
