A new president is at the helm of West Fraser Timber.
Edward "Ted" R. Seraphim was named to the post Thursday, the company said in a statement.
Seraphim joined the company in 1997 and has held the positions of vice-president, pulp and paper sales, vice-president, pulp and paper and was most recently executive vice-president and chief operating officer.
Seraphim takes over from Hank Ketcham, who had been West Fraser's president for 26 years.
Ketcham remains the company's chief executive officer and chairman and Seraphim remains the chief operating officer.
"I am delighted that Ted has accepted this important role and I am looking forward, together with our entire senior executive team, to working together to achieve continued success for our investors, our employees and our communities," Ketcham said in the statement.
The integrated wood products company has extensive operations in north and central B.C., including in Smithers, Houston, Fraser Lake, Chetwynd, Quesnel and Williams Lake as well as in Alberta and the southern United States.
