Hart-area residents are being asked to take it easy on the water as one of the final touches on a new water main is completed Wednesday.
The large-diameter main will will be connected to a pump station just north of Nechako Road.
The work could result in some water discoloration, the city said in a media release.
"If this occurs, residents are advised to run taps until the water runs clear - particularly before using a washing machine," the city added.
The work will occur during a lower water consumption period of the day, but the city is asking residents to conserve water from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"The City of Prince George appreciates the patience of residents as work is completed on this important project," the city added.
