Mark Zanolini and his two friends Leah and David Petryk met each other through their love of hobbies and are now realizing their dream of operating their own gaming store in Prince George.

Called 3 Goblin Games, the store is about to celebrate its grand opening in downtown Prince George.

“It’s going to be a basic gamer-style nerd haven for board games, miniature games, collector card games, comic books, and everything floating around in that genre,” said Zanolini.

“We're going to have a game space where you come in and play games in the store, whether that's a semi-private room that you can book or our organized events. You’ll be able to sit down across from somebody and enjoy your hobby.”

Zanolini says the three goblins have all worked in the hobby field for awhile but are excited to give people another option in the city to enjoy their hobbies.

“It's been a long time since there's been this sort of presence downtown,” noted Zanolini. The store is located in a building on George St. on the second floor above Epik Products.

“It’s something different for downtown and it’s us wanting to bring that focus back to downtown and having people coming in and just being able to have that central hub start to exist again.”

3 Goblin Games will be hosting a grand opening Saturday, April 8 beginning at 10 a.m. at 200-356 George St. and will be serving up special goblin donuts provided by another local business, Daydream Donuts.

“We're not going to be 100 per cent stocked, but we're here and we want people to be able to come in and take a look at the space because the building is absolutely beautiful,” said Zanolini.

“We just want to start letting everyone know that this is a place where they can feel safe to come down hang out and enjoy their hobbies without ever having to worry about being judged. We hope to see everybody and that the next few years can be fruitful for us all and hopefully help bring a new era in gaming to Prince George.”
