A New Horizons for Seniors provincial grant of $25,000 is the catalyst for the Hart Pioneer Centre to install a new floor in every inch of the facility.
The old Corlon floor is 28 years old and looks it.
The new floor goes in between Aug. 5 to 18 and renovations to spruce up the building begin on August 3.
The centre is looking for some able-bodied volunteers to help with the heavy lifting.
"We've got 400 members and about 350 of them are more than 80 years old," said president, Linda Letawski. "So we need help to move furniture from one end of the hall to the other."
Letawski is looking for individuals, as well as community organizations, to lend a hand.
"If you have a couple of hours to spare, we would appreciate it," she added.
