Flurries are flying in some places in Prince George, but there may soon be heavier conditions north of the city.
According to Environment Canada, up to 20 cm of snow is expected for Highway 97 at the Pine Pass in the next 24 hours, forcing the national service to issue a snowfall warning for the region.
Meteorologists are predicting 15 cm by tonight (March 12), followed by an extra five tomorrow morning (March 13).
As a result, visibility may be reduced at higher elevations and highway conditions may become hazardous.
The same snowfall warning is also in effect for those that need to venture on Highway 16 west toward the Kitimat or Terrace regions
Commuters are encouraged to slow down and adjust driving habits and ensure winter tires and chains are on your vehicle before making the trip.
