B.C. New Democrat leader John Horgan and health critic Judy Darcy are hosting a public health forum in Prince George Monday evening.
The two plan to ask residents about access to health care in search of local successes and also what locals see as pressures on the health system.
Horgan and Darcy will also discuss what they've heard from Interior B.C. residents about access to health care and family doctors.
On Sunday, local Liberal MLA's Mike Morris and Shirley Bond issued a release suggesting their political counterparts should visit the Northern Medical Program, University Hospital of Northern B.C., and B.C. Cancer Agency Centre for the North which they touted as successes while criticizing the NDP's health record in the north.
Bond, MLA of Prince George-Valemount, highlighted the Northern Medical Program as one of her proudest moments.
"This program allowed doctors, for the very first time to be trained here in the north at UNBC. The Northern Health Medical Program made a real and lasting impact on patient care in Prince George."
The NDP open event will run from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Coast Inn of the North.
