The mother of Adam Williams-Dudoward, who was 13 when he was allegedly murdered in January 2000, appeared in Prince George provincial court for an arraignment on Wednesday.

Judy Elaina Williams is next scheduled to appear in court in March 17.

She faces charges of failure to provide necessaries of life and indignity to human remains in connection with Williams-Dudoward's death.

Her boyfriend, Lloyd Wiilliam Cook faces charges of manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death, indignity to human remains and forcible confinement in connection to the boy's death.

He's next scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Now in the pretrial stage, when a judge determines which evidence is admissible in a trial, a ban on publication has been imposed on details of the proceedings in Cook's case.

At the time of Williams-Dudoward's death, Judy Williams and Lloyd Cook were in a common-law relationship and were residing in Prince George, according to police.

The case was not brought to police attention until 2004 and Mounties subsequently began a secret investigation. It was not brought to public attention until just before charges were laid in 2009.
