An RCMP 10-member team took down a huge marijuana grow operation in a remote residence in Horsefly, located 72 km. east of Williams Lake. A total of 4,000 healthy plants, valued between $2 and $4 million, and grow equipment, valued at about $200,000, were confiscated Wednesday by team members from Williams Lake and North District general investigation section in Prince George.
As police attended, three adult Asian males from the Vancouver area attempted to flee from a large grow-op outbuilding, said Staff Sgt. W. Brown, Williams Lake RCMP detachment commander. The three were arrested without incident and will be released with pending charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Those with information regarding illegal activity are invited to report it to police who are striving to keep communities safe.
Contact the Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211 or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
