A section of Highway 37 has been closed in both directions due to a mudslide, according to DriveBC.
The slide is located between the Bell 2 Bridge and Ogilvie Creek Bridge - 12 kilometres south of Bob Quinn.
"Geotechnical engineers assessing slope above slide area with helicopter. Equipment standing by," the service says in a posting.
There will be one scheduled but weather-dependent opening for single lane, alternating traffic, from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, the service said in an update.
Motorists are urged to use Highway 97-Alaska Highway.
- Motorists are also advised to drive cautiously as cleanup of debris is carried out along a five-kilometre stretch of Highway 97 from Umiti Pit Road to Hush Lake Road north of Quesnel.
