The Prince George Community Foundation (PGCF) is teaming up with the PG Chamber of Commerce to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC through the 13th annual Big Squeeze competition on Wednesday, July 30.
It's a city-wide lemonade competition that will feature more than a dozen stands set up around the city.
Businesses participating include Central Builders, Cold Juiceries, Boston Pizza, Browns Social House, Tim Hortons and many others. The PGCF and the Chamber of Commerce will also have their own booth located at 102-1584 7th Ave.
All funds raised will go towards supporting the mentoring and child care programs offered by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC. The PGCF will also match all funds raised, up to $1,000.
Stands will be judged on taste and the amount donated.
The total amount raised last year from the 19 stands across the city was $14,000 with the 2024 Big Squeeze Champion being Interior Savings/Beem Credit Union.
Kathleen Angelski, development and marketing manager at PGCF, told The Citizen what they want to provide the PG community with this event.
“Local impact," she said. This is really about a variety of businesses coming together to support this wonderful group and the work that they do as well as raising our community spirit and having fun."
