Mr. PG's 65th birthday is celebrated with the donation of plush toys and train-themed gift bundles to the pediatric ward at UHNBC. The gifts were made possible by an anonymous donor.

In honour of Mr. PG’s 65th birthday, The Exploration Place has delivered a susprise to young patients at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC), thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor.

To mark the local icon’s milestone, the museum gifted a collection of Mr. PG plush toys and train-themed bundles to the hospital’s pediatric ward.

Hospital staff were deeply moved by the thoughtful gesture.

“On behalf of UHNBC, our dedicated staff, and most importantly, the children and families in our pediatrics ward, we extend our deepest gratitude,” said Sarah Christensen. “The Mr. PG stuffies and train bags will create moments of happiness during hospital stays. Acts of generosity like this make a meaningful difference.”

Each gift bundle includes a train bag, engineer hat, wooden whistle, a Mr. PG thumb puppet and a child’s ticket for a ride on the Little Prince Steam Engine at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.

“Mr. PG has always represented the heart of Prince George,” said the anonymous donor in a press release from The Exploration Place. “I wanted to celebrate his 65th birthday in a way that would bring joy to local kids and families, especially those going through a tough time.”

The donation was co-ordinated through The Exploration Place, home to the Mr. PG gift shop and the Little Prince Steam Engine.

“We’re so grateful to our donor for making this possible and marking this milestone with kindness and care for local families," said Exploration Place executive director Alyssa Leier expressed gratitude for the donor’s support.
