On Thursday night, Mr. P.G. will become the boy in blue.
The city is illuminating the iconic wood-man as part of Prostate Cancer Canada's efforts to raise awareness for the disease.
The eight-metre high guy is one of 14 landmarks across the country that will be donning blue for the cause.
"This year we want to blanket the country," said Sarah Rushton, vice president of the western region.
In Vancouver, city hall, the Sails of Light and Science World Dome will all be blue. As will Niagara Falls, CN Tower in Toronto and the Big Nickel in Sudbury.
The City of Prince George has also proclaimed September Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. If the cancer is detected early more than 90 per cent of cases are treatable, the organization said.
In 2015, an estimated 24,000 men were diagnosed in Canada and the organization said the number should double by 2030 because of the aging population.
