More than 50 tickets were issued when Prince George RCMP conducted a speed enforcement campaign on Friday.

In all 37 were issued for speeding while two drivers saw their vehicles impounded for seven days because they were going 40 km/h over the posted limit.

They were also issued tickets with a $368 fine, they must pay for towing and vehicle storage, they are subject to three-year driver risk premiums from Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and they could face a driver's licence review from the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles.

Another five were issued tickets for driving while operating electronic devices and seven were given warnings under the Motor Vehicle Act. Two drivers were found driving without a licence and two without insurance.

Two vehicles were removed from the road due to defects and two were issued tickets for other Motor Vehicle Act violations.
