A 55-year-old man was killed on Thursday after he collided with a moose while driving his motorcycle southbound on Highway 97 near Hixon.
Police responded to the collision around 9 a.m. and found the man dead at the scene, located approximately 15 kilometres north (previously reported by RCMP as south) of Hixon. The name of the deceased man has not been released.
Highway 97 was closed to traffic in both directions the rest of the morning as RCMP traffic analysts examined the scene. One lane was opened early in the afternoon for alternating traffic.
