A motorcyclist is in hospital after a head-on collision with a small car on Tyner Boulevard Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened at approximately 1 p.m. on Sunday as the motorcycle was heading northwest on Tyner Boulevard near the intersection with Ospika Boulevard.

"Witnesses saw a probably red, or possibly black, minivan merge onto Tyner from Ospika," Prince George RCMP Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur said. "The motorcycle had to move over into some gravel, which may have led to the collision."

The biker suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and was taken to hospital, McArthur said. The two people in the car suffered minor injuries.

"We haven't located the driver of the other vehicle which was involved, which wouldn't have suffered any damage," McArthur said. "Possibly they didn't see the accident, but that seems unlikely because it would have happened right behind them."

The crash is still under investigation and no charges had been laid as of Sunday evening.

Anyone with information about the crash or the minivan involved is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
