With spring starting to bloom, you'll see more crews working on Prince George roads and sidewalks.

The city says, next month, it'll see the start of capital road and sidewalk rehabilitation as well as construction for the 2020 paving year.

Close to 41 lane-kilometres of road and 2.5 kilometres of sidewalk are set to be completed this year.

The longest project is a three-kilometre section on Bellamy Road in the Hart, while the largest sidewalk rehabilitation will take place on the asphalt sidewalk of Patricia Boulevard from Queensway to Taylor Drive.

The city adds sweeping operations have been underway for a couple of weeks and are scheduled to continue into the early summer.

Line painting is also expected to begin in early May and be completed by the end of June.

As for potholes, the city says it's patched about 650 so far this year.

Residents are asked to help the city keep the roads as smooth as possible and are asked to contact the Service Centre with any pothole-related problems.
