Now up in the vicinity of University of Northern British Columbia, two new signs not only warn drivers they're heading into moose country but give them an idea of the consequences if they hit one.

Now up in the vicinity of University of Northern British Columbia, two new signs not only warn drivers they're heading into moose country but give them an idea of the consequences if they hit one.

One is posted along University Way and the other on Tyner Boulevard and both show a car with a crumpled hood and a threatening moose looking down onto the vehicle. The message? A collision with the animal can be as hard on the vehicle occupants as on the moose.
