The B.C. Conservation Officer Service says a moose calf had to be put down due to injuries suffered it was allegedly shot with a pellet gun in an effort to keep it out of a vegetable garden in Fort St. John.
Other non-lethal means can be used, the BCCOS said in a recent posting on social media, including bear bangers and air horns and putting an electric fence around the garden.
