Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Minister James Moore will return to the town of his alma mater Jan. 24 to talk money.

Moore, a University of Northern B.C. graduate, will be in Prince George to take part in pre-budget consultations with community leaders as well as other local events.

The federal 2013 budget is expected to be tabled in the spring. In November, Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty launched the pre-budget consultation process in Victoria with a roundtable discussion with community and business leaders.

The public is also invited to submit their own thoughts about Canadian government spending priorities online through the department of finance's website (www.fin.gc.ca).

"We need to hear more specifics from Canadians in terms of how to further encourage private sector growth and leadership in the economy," Flaherty said last November. "These are challenging questions for challenging times and I look forward to engaging Canadians in discussing them."
