Driven by competitiveness, but united by cause.

Last month, three Prince George sports programs gave up the razor and settled for the prickly crumb-catchers while raising money in support of men’s health for the annual Movember campaign.

The UNBC men’s basketball and soccer teams, as well as the Prince George Spruce Kings, grew moustaches and combined to raise $23,834 for the 2020 cause.

The ballers topped the three clubs with $11,259 raised, followed by the footballers with $6,950 and the hockey jocks with $5,625.

Even more impressive, the two UNBC teams finished in the country’s top 10 among U-Sports schools in third and eighth respectively.

The T-Wolves’ basketball squad finished behind the Wilfrid Laurier men’s rugby team ($23,929.69) and the McMaster men’s volleyball team ($12,085.08) in that category.
