A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man who has allegedly violated his parole, and he may be in the Quesnel area.
The warrant was issued for Gerald Richard McLean, 46, after he failed to return to a halfway house in the Vancouver area on May 7.
"Police have had received information that McLean may have been in the Quesnel area and have made several attempts to locate him without success," North District RCMP Cpl. Dave Tyreman said.
"He is considered to be an experienced outdoorsman and prefers to be in rural areas where he is known to gold pan and live off the land."
McLean is described as Caucasian, five-foot-eight and weighing 160 pounds, with green eyes, varying hair colour and tattoos on both upper arms. He may have a shaved face and cut his hair since a photo released by RCMP was taken.
McLean is believed to be armed. If you see him, do not approach, but call 911 immediately and wait for the police.
