A man has gone missing from his Cochrane, Alberta home and could be hitchhiking to B.C.

Johnny Kootenay, 56, is described as aboriginal, 5' 6" tall, weighing 160 pounds and with acne scars on his face.

"Johnny's not in any trouble, we just need to speak with him and confirm that he is OK," Cochrane RCMP Cst. Kary Moore said. "Living a transient lifestyle can be tough in Alberta especially during the winter months, we will continue to look for Johnny until either we, the RCMP, speak with him, or until he reaches out to someone in his family."

Anyone who may have seen Kootenay is asked to call the Cochrane RCMP detachment at 403-851-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or via internet at www.tipsubmit.com.
