RCMP are asking the public's help to locate a man who went from a campground near Smithers on Thursday.
Roy Pawluck was travelling with his daughter from Whitehorse to Abbotsford. The pair stopped in Smithers on Wednesday and planned to stay several days.
He left the campsite on foot around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, and called a family member to stay he was going for a walk and wasn't going back to the campground, according to a statement released by police.
Pawluck suffers from medical conditions that have made his family concerned for his well being. Family members were also concerned he may try to hitchhike home to the Yukon.
He's not familiar with the Smithers area and has no family or friends living nearby that he may have walked to.
Smithers RCMP and Search and Rescue have conducted a search, but he was not found.
