Residential roads in the area west of Ospika Boulevard and south of Massey Drive are earmarked for cosmetic treatment this year.
The city has put out its bid for the 2014 round of microsurfacing, or micropaving, which consists of a thin layer of a mixture of aggregate, asphalt, polymer, water and other mineral fillers getting applied to streets already in adequate condition.
According to bid documents, work is scheduled to be complete by the end of August on the following streets:
- Forest Avenue, from Ospika Boulevard to Goheen Street
- Coyle Street, from Massey Drive to Forest Avenue
- Docknick Avenue, from Coyle Stre to cul de sac
- Estes Place, from Forest Avenue to cul de sac
- Forest Place, from Goheen Street to cul de sac
- Bond Street, from Ospika Boulevard to Forest Avenue
- Goheen Street, from Forest Avenue to Pinewood Avenue
- Grace Crescent, from Goheen Street to Goheen Street
- Shane Crescent, from Goheen Street to Goheen Street
- Goheen Place, from Goheen Street to cul de sac
- Shane Place, from Goheen Street to cul de sac
- Gould Crescent, from Ospika Boulevard to Ospika Boulevard
- Hesse Place from Ospika Boulevard to cul de sac.
Prior to any work being done, homeowners or affected businesses will be notified one day in advance of the surfacing work by the contractor.
Last year microsurfacing work was completed in the Pinewood and North Meadow areas.
The invitation to tender closes Feb. 6.
