Former University of Northern British Columbia professor and chancellor Alex Michalos was named to the Order of Canada today.
Michalos was named a member of the order for "his contributions to the social sciences, notably in research that has helped to measure quality-of-life in Canada and abroad," the Governor General's office stated.
