A donation by Integris Credit Union will help Hope Air fund 20 flights for Prince George residents in need of out-of-town medical treatment.
The $5,000 contribution will help the charity continue to help defray travel costs for those who couldn't otherwise afford to make a trip for specialized care. Since January, Hope Air has provided 358 flights for Prince George patients to destinations like Vancouver, Edmonton and Kelowna.
"Cost and distance are formidable barriers and add enormous financial, physical and emotional stress to individuals already dealing with serious health issues," Hope Air donor relations officer Anna du Bois said in a news release thanking Integris for its contribution.
