Prince George lawyer Dan Marcotte was sworn in as a newly appointed member of CNC's board on March 4.

Marcotte, a partner with Marcotte Law, is a former instructor of law and economics at the college.

Marcotte has practiced law since 1981 and specializes in corporate, business and real estate law.

He is also the creator of econveyance, the first internet-based real estate transaction platform, now hosting the largest network of conveyancer professionals in Western Canada.

"I know that Mr. Marcotte's local and global experience will add to the strengths of the college and the current board," said Lee Doney, acting chair of the CNC board of governors.

"We're thrilled to have him on board."

The lieutenant governor in council appoints board members for a term of one year. They are then eligible for reappointment for two further terms of two years and three years respectively, for a total of six years, according to the college.
