A man with a gun walked into the mobile home park adjacent to Correlieu senior secondary in Quesnel at about 1:52 p.m. Monday.
Police attended immediately and located the male suspect as he approached the edge of the school parking lot.
The man was apprehended at gun point. At that time the male was determined to be a mentally challenged adult 49-year-old male.
The gun was a toy that he had carried tucked into his waistband.
He was taken to his relative's residence and released without charges.
Police said it is quite difficult to tell the difference between a real gun and a toy or replica as many are very realistic and police take any report of this kind seriously until an investigation proves otherwise.
