Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for a man after receiving a report Wednesday morning of an attempt to coax a high school student into a vehicle.

The suspect is described as about 50 years old with greyish-blonde hair and possibly wearing glasses and driving a dark coloured Ford Explorer.

The 15-year-old girl, a student at Duchess Park secondary school, told police she was walking to school when she was approached at the corner of 20th Avenue and Upland Street and told to get into the vehicle.

When she pulled out her cellphone, the man drove away, but a few minutes later he showed up again in the same vehicle and followed her as far as the Parkwood Mall parking lot at 15th and Victoria Street although there was no further communication.

When she arrived at Duchess Park, she called police and told members it was the third time in 30 days the man has confronted her. The two previous incidents were not reported to RCMP.

"Officers attended the area and made extensive patrols, however the suspect vehicle was not located," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said.

He urged youth with cellphones who find themselves in such situations to call 911 immediately.
