Man killed crossing First Avenue

A 36-year-old man died in hospital after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing First Avenue near Dominion Street on Sunday night, Prince George RCMP said.

A 36-year-old man died in hospital after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing First Avenue near Dominion Street on Sunday night, Prince George RCMP said.

A second man who was also struck is in hospital with unspecified injuries after emergency services were called to the scene at 10:38 p.m.

"Preliminary investigation indicates that the two pedestrians were struck by an east bound full size pick-up truck," Cpl. Craig Douglass said. "The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene."

There is no crosswalk or lights were the incident occurred.

The name of the man who was killed has not yet been released but he is not from Prince George, Douglass said.
